2025 Acura ADX Earns TOP SAFETY PICK Award from IIHS
  • Acura ADX joins Integra and MDX in earning TOP SAFETY PICK honors from IIHS
  • All ADX models are equipped with AcuraWatch™ suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies and proprietary ACE™ body structure
  • All fully tested Acura vehicles also earn top U.S. government 5-star overall crash-test ratings

TORRANCE, Calif. – The 2025 Acura ADX has earned the TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) award, one of the highest accolades from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2025 ADX excelled in IIHS crash avoidance and mitigation testing, thanks to Acura’s comprehensive suite of safety technologies, including AcuraWatch™ advanced driver-assist system and next-generation collision mitigation features. ADX is the third Acura model awarded the Institute’s TOP SAFETY PICK in 2025, joining the Integra and MDX. The ADX also earned a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score crash safety rating from NHTSA.

All 2025 ADX models are equipped with the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies as standard equipment, including a Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)1, Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)2, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow3, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) System4, Traffic Jam Assist, blind spot information (BSI)5, Traffic Sign Recognition6 and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor.

Moreover, ADX features the Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, designed to help protect occupants in a wide variety of frontal collisions, along with advanced supplemental restraint systems.

In a segment first, ADX uses next-generation driver and front passenger airbags specifically designed to reduce head rotation in a collision, especially an oblique collision. The driver’s airbag uses an innovative donut-shaped structure to cradle and hold the head, mitigating rotation and reducing the likelihood of brain injury.

On the passenger side, a three-chamber airbag design also used in Integra achieves a similar result. The three chambers inflate separately, with the two outer chambers that extend above the main chamber designed to cradle the head and control rotation.

Along with side curtain airbags and side impact airbags for both driver and front passenger, ADX features a total of 10 airbags.

In addition to IIHS testing, every Acura model that has been fully evaluated in the NHTSA’s 2025 and 2026 model year NCAP testing has received a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score.7
